At your Core,
Who are You?

At your core, who are you?

I'm a consultant...
I'm a banker...
I'm a product manager...

That's how we typically introduce ourselves.

But is that our real identity, or just part of it?

Back in 2020, I was in an existential crisis.

It was a painful period where everything was uncertain.

I wanted a career change but didn't know where to start.

So I started asking big questions:

What do I want to do with my life?
What's my next career move?
Why should I do this... or that?

But the biggest question I couldn't answer was: 'Who am I?'

Being a consultant was only a part of me.

My authentic self was buried so deep that I tried on different identities like they were hats... just to see which ones fit me best.

Here's a pic of me back then trying on an 'identity hat'.

Embarrassing and sad, to say the least.

But that was one of my biggest learnings:

That while a career change has many variables, the only constant is who we are at our core.

Our essence. Our authentic self.
Whatever you want to call it.

That's where we need to look first.

That's our starting point for designing an authentic and meaningful career.

Back in 2020, I was a consultant.
In 2024, I'm a career coach.

But now I know, that at my core, I'm a dreamer and a teacher.
Always have been and will be.

So, at your core, who are you?
