Where do you see yourself
in 5 years?

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

'Oh no, not this question again!' ...

Do you relate? I've also been there.

This question is actually important and can be cool to reflect on, so why do we hate it?

Maybe because we're too focused on the short-term and living in reactive mode.

Maybe because we don't want to face the hard truth that the life we're living today is not leading to where we want to be.

So here's an activity that might help: 🔥Vision Boarding 🔥

Have you ever done one?

If not, here's my way of doing it.

Feel free to play with it and make it your own!

I have 3 columns.

1️⃣ Column 1:

Me at my best - with my family, my closest friends, in my best shape, and doing the things I love.

2️⃣ Column 2:

My inspirations - people whom I aspire to in my life and in my work, my role models.

3️⃣ Column 3:

Big goals I want to achieve - beautiful homes I'd like to own, doing a TED Talk, owning a Tier 1 passport, along with my core values that act as my compass towards a fulfilling life, and so on.

And at the top, I put my mission in this life, the impact I want to have.

The point of having this vision board is to remind me about what matters most, and to keep inspiring and motivating me on a daily basis.

That's why I print it and put it on my desk - so I can see it every day.

If you want to build yours but feel like some aspects are unclear about your future life and work, start with the elements that you're certain about.

Maybe you know exactly where you're going to live, or who you're with, or the lifestyle you want to have.

And if 5 years is too long, start with 2-3 years down the line, and see where it leads.

So, now I ask you again, where do you see yourself in the next 3 to 5 years?
